Kasia magic garden

Description

Students will learn how to create beautiful and imaginative artwork inspired by traditional Easter European paper cutting technique called Vytynanky. They will find out how to add more interest to their work with 3 D elements. They will look at existing designs and come up with their own one based on the theme of nature. They will be shown how to cut shapes to make them symmetrical, repeat and resize them and cut detail inside. They will also learn how to quill paper and make a variety of 3D shapes. They will use composition rules, colour theory and layering to create successful images.They will be able to use their newly acquired skills to make birthday cards for family and friends, book marks, decorate boxes and picture frames or make stand alone artworks.

Instructor profile:

Kasia Parker is a qualified art teacher and artist. She’s been teaching children in the UK and her native Poland for 16 years as well as exhibiting, taking commissions and running community art projects with her friends from Dartford Arts Network. Kasia is a member of Northern Print Studio in Newcastle, where she moved to last year from Kent. She loves her family, strawberries and chocolate and camp fires.
